Super Green Jeopardy, Venice Architecture Biennial, Italy / 27.08.2010

... ENERGY 1500: who saved hundreds of kilowatt hours on his electricity bill by spending 300 nights in a hotel and winding his watch by hand? ... FOOD 1000: who feeds the world by urbanising the pig-population and making them live in skyscrapers? ... LABOR 2000: Who reduces pollution by wearing only undyed clothing? ... SOCIAL 500: ...

How ‘green’ are architects nowadays? What do they build, what do they eat, what do they wear, what energy does their office use? With the quiz The Green Jeopardy, architects are requested to come up with solutions for saving the world. Three candidates, Thom Mayne, Kristin Feireiss and ... , supported by the audience, fight for the most points by answering questions about how architects can save the world. Which architect produces the greenest energy, which building delivers food for the world, who is dressed in the most environmentally friendly way, etc.

As Peter Sloterdijk stated in his lecture during the Copenhagen Climate Conference, architects have the solutions already in their drawers, waiting to be taken out.

In a live presentation ideas will be presented by.: François Roche, Michael Obrist, Jeanne van Heeswijk, Igor Kovacevic, Lukas Feireiss, Markus Bader, Kjetil Thorson, Minsuk Cho, Matthias Klotz, and Winy Maas.
