Typical for their own complex system of internal and external references –reaching reaching out to the familiar imagery of pop culture, discography, and political iconography, and de-familiarizing that which we think we know – Feireiss Warp and Weft series understands itself as a homage to influential German architect and architecture theorist Gottfried Semper. The series of collages mixes architectural references, textiles, and human hands, in reference to the nineteenth-century architectural Semper understanding of the archetypal origin of all built form from textile production.
