Project: Zumtobel Group Award 2010; Head of Research: Lukas Feireiss, Sophie Lovell, Client: Aedes Architecture Forum, Zumtobel Group
The Zumtobel Group Award is designed to honour sustainable solutions in architecture and engineering that make a pioneering contribution to the future quality of life. The objectives of the award are 1) to address the current challenges and highlight the possibilities of sustainable architecture and urban planning; 2) to identify and discuss the various requirements and interests related to sustainability and humanity in the built environment; 3) to encourage current and future generations to engage actively in research into new sustainable perspectives and their implementation.
The award is divided into two categories, covering built and realised projects on the one hand and research and initiatives on the other. The categories are "Built Environment" and "Research & Initiative". A jury of internationally highly acclaimed experts with appropriate professional and academic backgrounds selects a laureate in each of the two categories mentioned above.
